About BD Roofing

The current team includes a flexible staff of around 20 people at any one time, plus sub-contract staff. Sub-contractors employed by the Company are all fully qualified in M.E.W.P’s, Fork Lift and a member of each gang is required to hold a current Banksman/Slinger certificate.

Sub-contractors are employed from a number of bases nationwide in order to offer an efficient service from all parts of the country. In-house staff provide a high standard of professional and technical assistance to finalise specifications for all forms of architectural features as required by the client.

The Company has taken on board all the necessary prerequisites of health and safety requirements and pays close attention to set standards. BD Roofing Limited has a fundamental commitment to its in house health and safety policy which undergoes frequent revision in order to make sure that all work carried out by the Company complies with government legislation regarding safety matters. Each sub-contractor or employee attending site must hold a current pass certificate in the C.I.T.B. touch screen test at either operative or supervisory level. These are reviewed and further tests booked to keep knowledge up to date bi-yearly. 100% of the BD Roofing Limited workforce on site either currently hold a CSCS card or are working towards the necessary NVQ to obtain this card.

The Company Management accepts responsibility to provide and maintain safe working conditions and a healthy working environment for all who are involved in their working operations. It is Company policy to provide training and supervision where necessary to ensure that all employees/sub-contractors are fully competent within the workplace providing protection to health and safety.
A concern for health and safety is also reflected in the Company’s provision of plant and systems for works that are free from risks where is reasonably practicable to health and all potential health risks are monitored while the necessary protection is provided where employees are exposed to hazardous substances..

Owen Barker, Brian Donkin and Lynne Donkin are currently Fellows of the Institute of Roofing. Brian Donkin is a former Regional Chairman of the Yorkshire and North Eastern Counties N.F.R.C. with the Company still being a member.
